8kt yellow gold (tested). Carved basket consisting of large oval brooch and pair of ear pendants. Worked in oval with stepped ornamentally decorated levels and decorative pendants. Ca. 23,1g.
Rare and very well preserved example of jewelry made of cork. Especially in the late 18th and also in the 19th century cork was an extremely popular material used for making architectural models of famous ancient buildings. The models were extremely popular among wealthy travelers and were considered a very special souvenir of the Grand Tour.
